When a muslim woman travels on her passport what happens, with regards to seeing her face if she has it covered? Surely her face isn't covered in the photo or is it?and also in light of the current situation what about travel passes in the  uk?How does it work?

I think the word's hijab - and not to be confused with jihad, holy war... but sorry, I don't know the answer. Bear in mind that practices vary a lot - some women from the Gulf area cover up almost completely, face and all; some just have long dresses; some only have headscarves; some nothing at all.

Well not nothing at all, but you know what I mean.

The question is about travellling using her passport with her face in a hijab or burkha at a UK airport. If flying out of the country the check in staff at the aiprot could request the lady to reveal her face. If coming into the country it is entirely upto the immigration officer who will make the judgement if he/she wants the passenger to reveal her face. The judgement is made upon experience of seeing passengers, the travelling group (single/family), the passport in hand etc. The passenger is given the opportunity to reveal her face to a female officer and discreetly if so required.

you're right jno it is hijab(dont know what I was thinking)..But her passport photo will show her uncovered face right?
