Prompted by another post (about biometric scanners) is there anything I should know about arriving in America (is there anything they do there that they don't at airports in other countries)? Thank you.

went there last year sherr bloody long queues when you arrive and when we left shoes off, this off, that off, still they have to do it for security! all bloody miserable as well!
you will have fun at Disney when we went in sept it was just under 100 degrees every day have fun
W e've never had a problem in Boston....just a bit of a wait sometimes.

If you can fly via Dublin you can do the immigration bit there....it's so much easier to do when you are not exhausted by the flight. Check out the Aer Lingus website about Preclearance.
Don't hang around once you get off the plane, there are massive queues sometimes and you can add on another hour or more waiting to get to the immigration stations.
