3 Days In Albania!

I am going to Tirana for 3 days next month and I hope that someone who has been there can tell me what to do, where to go, what to avoid etc.

I would like to get a train to the coast (Durres?) and into the countryside to see how the locals live, but I will need to get back to Tirana each night.

Any advice will be gratefully received.

It's not that big a country. Try to get to Butrint, where the Roman ruins are very interesting. By the way, it will be fiendishly hot. Take a hat and a big fan.

Tirana station has been closed since last September for rebuilding, since when there have been no trains between there and Durres. However Bertie the Bus should get you there.
