as an archeologist you arent on much ( coz you cant sell what you find ) so Egypt was damned cheap last year and this - and Jordan is this year
( is cheap to go to and stay ) - as a pensioner I am similarly constrained
and you know really rough places ( Syria, Aleppo, East Ukraine etc ) one way tickets are available....
You have an innate frasp of the markets and how they move DD

If a plane is empty, the prices will reflect that. Then again, they might reduce capacity in which case there probably won`t be any deals. It might be worth keeping an eye out though. Prices to Bangkok were quite competitive every time the troubles flared up. I hope Malaysian don`t go the way of Pan Am - Lockerbie finished them. They might re-brand.
Here`s an example of the kind of practices that can go on behind the scenes when an airline is struggling. The passengers don`t see it but people remember and all of these different issues that have happened over the years can be quite damaging to business. http:// news.bb c.co.uk /1/hi/u k/33981 0.stm
