Renewing A Pasport
7 Answers
I am wondering whether to renew and pay for my passport online, I still have to print out a document afterwards and post it to them, or whether to just go to the Post Office and get a renewal form, and send that off. Which would be easiest ?

Even with all the problems in the news, I sent it on Tuesday, it was delivered the next Wednesday. It is so easy! Fill in the form online, pay online, print out the declaration and sign it, post off the form, old passport and 2 photos, receive new passport...job done! What got me was I sent the form to the online renewal department in Wales, the payment was taken in Durham, the return address on my new passport enevelope was Northampton and my old passport came back from Liverpool! Talk about a centralised system!!
Online like sddsddean says is the easiest and it ony does take one week despite the reports in the news to the contrary. I reckon folk leave renewing till the last minute then complain when they do not get it back before they leave for holiday! After all you can renew up to nine months before the expiry date and those nine months (or shorter time) are added to the expiry on the new passport.
