Does one require a passport to travel to Jersey?

Theoretically no. In practise yes, coz of the anti-terrorist concerns. You will also need a passport to hire a car etc.

FlyBe will regard a flight to Jersey as falling under the rules for domestic travel, meaning that almost any form of photo ID is acceptable. See here for a list:

The easyJet website simply refers to photographic ID, with no list given:

However when I've phoned easyJet (on behalf of a friend who had no passport) their list was just as extensive as that of FlyBe.

Jet2 also accepts things like company ID cards (as long as they carry a photograph):

Aurigny is very flexible, allowing the use of senior citizens' bus passes, for example:

be safe take your passport, the airline will want to see it for ID purposes, unless you are going by ferry ?

No they won't! A driving licence, bus pass or similar will suffice for all airlines flying between the UK and Jersey. (See my post and links above).
