Return Ferry To Santander From Plymouth
Quite fancy going as a foot passenger (with cabin) on this route but it seems very expensive during the holiday periods. Anyone got any suggestions as to how I can get this cheaper, please?

I did see this option but I particularly wanted to travel to Santander having been there before and knowing that the ferry terminal was slap bang in the centre of town. Additionally I can travel from my home town in Scotland directly to Plymouth without changing trains which is not possible using Portsmouth.
Have you been a ferry passenger on one of these before? If you have then you know what to expect and obviously liked it.
If you haven't, then I wouldn't bother doing it, it's more like a hen/stag night on a ferry, not what I'd call a cruise, just a means of getting to and from Spain.
The only good thing about it for us was that we saw a cuviers beaked whale, very rare sighting apparently, and worth putting up with all the drunken goings on.

Thanks ethandron. Yes I have been on this ferry several times but fortunately never noticed anything untowards. Perhaps because on at least two of the trips, the weather was so bad as to discourage anyone from making whoopee. Force 8 if I remember correctly on one trip. However it's really the visit to Northern Spain that interests me. Didn't realise that the trip was a triangular one, either.
