Hi, me and the misses want to go camping for a night or 2 with a couple of friends this weekend. We live in Kent and would like not to have to travel for more than a couple of hours. It would seem to me that official camp sites aren't fond of campfires. Do any of you have any ideas where we can go and not upset anone (or get moved on by the police!!) Thanks for your help.

There is a great camp site in Roydon just north of London, a canal at the side of you great facilities and in the village you will find 3 pubs and an Indian resturant (suprisingly good) not sure about camp fires though. There is a place in Wendsleydale where you can light the biggest fire you wish and a river with waterfalls right next to the tent.(a bit far to go i reckon)
