Am going to Paris next week for three days and have been to all the usual tourist attractions.
Anybody got suggestions for things that are slightly more unusual.
Don't want to travel too far out of the centre. Staying near Sacre Coeur.
Thanks.
I don't know if you class the Palace of Versailles as one of the "usual attractions" or whether you think it is not close enough to the centre but it's easy to get to and well worth a visit.
They've put copies of his paintings up by the places where he painted the originals, eg the crows over the cornfield. You can see his grave, next to his brother Theo.
I always love the Musee D'orsay. I never tire of that place. You've maybe already been there though. You're maybe in Paris now so let us know when you get back. What did you do ? Where did you go? Did you buy me a pressie?
I'm with you Janbee, such a lovely museum and beautiful building. Light and roomy with a wonderful art collection that I never tire of.
My - not to be missed - recommendation though, is an English speaking tour of the Palais Garnier, National Opera. The building is breathtaking. If you can't get on a tour go anyway and wander round by yourself its amazing.
