hi folks me and the missus are of to malta for a week bugibba we enjoy eating and drinking in quaint little bars with a bit of exploring .... any ideas
Are you hiring a car?
Reason I ask is that the first thing to do is escape Bugibba - it is, shall we say, 'lively'. A bit Ibiza nightclubby.
There are lots of much nicer places to visit, a favourite of mine being Marsaxlokk, a nice little fishing port with traditional, brightly coloured boats. But it's at the southern end of the island!
Been to Bugibba/Qawra twice. Not my favourite island but quite pleasant. I certainly didn't find Bugibba to be like Ibiza. A few bars with sky sports but really enjoyed a stroll up there in the evening
I'm planning on going to Malta in May. Everywhere on the island is accessible by bus (my sister married a Maltese man) and you can get a weeks bus pass for less than 10 euro. The ferry to Gozo is only about 4 euro.
spend the day in Gozo its lovely.
If you intend to take the day trip over to Mount Etna remember to take sea sick tablets it can be very choppy on the way back.
