Cape Verde

Just booked an Autumn week in the Cape Verde Islands. Five star hotel. Anyone been there? What do you think?

We've not been but good friends of ours go regularly and love it. They usually go at Easter and have said that whilst it's hot, there's quite a wind which can be annoying as it blows lots of sand around.
I believe September is the wettest and hottest month but with little or no wind.

I have friends who go to the Azores each year. Not too close to these islands but they love it there. Everything is very inexpensive and you never find the "Magaluf" crowd there at all ! Very green and tropical....fabulous flowers everywhere apparently.

Just been speaking to someone whose been. Great for a relaxing totally chilled holiday but not much, if anything, by the way of things to do / see.

There's a great singer called Césaria Évora from these islands. She's dead now but her tracks are still fantastic listening.
