02 And West India Quay
Hi. Looking for advice on above. And have a few question regards area etc...
I'm visiting 02 on Saturday night. Have decided to stay in West India quay.
What is Easiest way to get from paddington to west india quay. Approx cost in taxi as not keen on tube
Nice places to eat in area? We like all sorts of food
Are we far from Emirates cable car to experience that?
And after the concert how.would we get back to hotel. I believe the marriott is on opposite side of river from the 02?
Any advice great appreciated.

Bakerloo Line to Baker Street, Jubilee Line to Canary Wharf, one stop on the DLR to West India Quay. Should take 30-40 minutes.
The Emirates Air Line runs from Royal Victoria (north side) to North Greenwich (South side, just a few minutes walk from the O2). To travel from the O2 to West India Quay you could take the Air Line, then get the DLR from Royal Victoria. Four stops to Poplar, change there and it's one stop to West India Quay.

Forgot to add. Alternative route from O2 to West India is from North Greenwich (Jubilee Line) one stop to Canary Wharf, the one stop from there on DLR. You will almost certainly need to use either the tube or DLR to get back from the O2. Assuming you can find a cab, By road involves a trip through Blackwall Tunnel and is a bit cumbersome.
The calculator at Worldtaximeter.com estimates the cab fare at £37.70. However I'd be unsurprised if it didn't turn out to be closer to fifty quid.
I'd use NJ's first route. (Dead easy).
I'd use the route via Canary Wharf to return from North Greenwich to West India Quay but consider the Emirates Air Line route for the outbound journey ('cos it's more fun!).

lots of chain restaurants in the O2. Not a great many others in that part of town, though, on either side of the river.

The Wetherspoon's pub at West India Quay is lovely. It's a fantastic building and (unlike some other Wetherspoon's venues) rather 'classy':

If you'll be arriving at West India Quay during the day (rather than in the evening) don't miss the superb Museum of London Docklands:

The Gun (which is a well-reviewed British gastro pub) is a short taxi from West India Quay:

The DLR, Ummmm, is the Dockands Light Railway. It functions as an annex to the London Underground system but is run separately. The trains are driverless, with the whole system controlled by computers:

Personally I wouldn't stay there, soulless at night as it is a business area., and expensive hotels. I always stay between London Bridge and Waterloo, so you can get off the tube at either LB, Southwark, or Waterloo.....and all are direct on the Jubilee line after the concert. So only 10 mins to get back rather than having to change. There are loads of good value budget hotels in the area. I always stay at Mercure London Bridge. Or if your budget is higher try CitizenM.
Thanks for all your advise. I had an amazing time. Hotel was perfect. And had lovely food in a brasserie next door called browns. Didn't realise canary wharf had underground shopping centres. Loved it. Was perfect for out stay. Plus we did the emirates both before and after concert. Last flight back from 02 side was 11pm.
