An online friend has been lying to me. She said she was from New York, but now it seems she's a Brit! I do know that she went to see Justin Bieber recently, in Birmingham. I assumed she meant Birmingham, Alabama, but she probably meant Birmingham, Warwickshire! I'd like to know for certain, though, but I can't find 2015 tour dates for Justin Bieber. She went to see him about 2 - 3 weeks ago

I have got quite a few FB friends who are americans living in the uk.
Lynn-M there are no such things as on-line 'friends'. If she was trying to decieve yo why would she let on she'd seen JB in Birmingham . did she actually say Birmingham,Alabama?

Why not frighten her and say your granny has given you a huge amount of money for Xmas to travel and you've decided to come visit her in New York -she how far she will take the deceit before you 'fill her in'
Woofgand has made a good point. Did she say she 'comes from New York' or 'Lives in New York'
They come over here... buying up our concert tickets... :-(
The same old thing, OG: overpaid; over sexed; and over here.
except stuey -you are over there! lol!

Never thought of that, Retro. Anyway, I always liked the GIs' response to the British: "Under paid; under sexed; and under Eisenhower."
The Canadian Airforce coming over to the East coast UK in the War have a lot to answer for (my eventual birth for one lol!)
as far as i know, there's no birmingham in warwickshire either
Birmingham has always been in Warwickshire, just like Manchester and Liverpool have always been in Lancashire. Just because some administrative boundaries were changed in 1974 does not mean that towns and cities have moved. There are some new administrative regions I'll admit, but it doesn't mean to say that they are not still in their original counties!
birminham is in west midlands isn't it?
It is indeed.
I think that quite often the geographical and administrative "location" of a place are confusing. For example, I live in what is commonly referred to as the Greater Toronto Area (GTA); however, I actually live about 40 miles away from the city.
well there's a Brum in the west mids ...... I am not sure if there is one in Warcs
hi stoo

grader turranno ? blimey I thought you were in Calgary or Moose Factory....
But "West Midlands" isn't a county is it? But Warwickshire is, and that's where Birmingham is...At least it was when I was a kid living over there.
See my link Stuey. West Midlands is very definitely a county.
