Yes, I was here when you posted but I was trying to answer another thread at the time ;-) Unfortunately the first train from Tarragona to Barcelona on a Saturday morning isn't until 0804, so that appears to be ruled out. The journey time is 1h 5m, with departures on a Saturday morning at 0400 and 0700.

If you want to consider a 'private transfer' (which is really just another term for a pre-booked taxi), I know nothing about the reliability of the service linked from Sharon's post. This is the website that I'd choose to book with:
