Mosquito repellent

Which are the best ones? im after the plug in type? do the sonic ones work? im taking a baby abroad 6 months old..

I found sonic ones of little or no use at all and in certain positions I could hear them.  I always use a non-toxic plug-in liquid, cannot recommend one as mine are all Spanish makes and leave it plugged in 24/7.

A mosquito repellent is not really a repellent. It just makes you invisible to the mosquito. If it lands on you accidently, tough.

I went to Cuba in may and due to the mosquitos thinkin it was breeding season cos of the storms coming back, there were thousands, i had 100+ bites even though i took repellent and had a plug in in my room. The local doc said the european repellents are useless in the caribbean. 

I have since been told to go to the health shop and get a supplement for some B vitamin as when the mossie lands, it licks your skin first and if it likes u it bites and these tablets supposed to be off puttin.

lootmaker.  I used to be plagued by mozzies whenever I went away.  I now use Avon's Woodland Fresh range of shower gel and body lotion and take vitamin B complex and have not been bitten for the last few holidays.

Livingin a mosquito zone  I use those baygon oops brand name... mats that you put in the machines that you plug in.   They work really well.   I have a very large bedroom and use two machine.   And if i am sitting out in the evening i use tabbard stick which is ike a stick deodorant and rub it on exposed parts.

Hi,  A small warning here, all the plug in/liquid type or burning coils type repellers work very well on mossies but if you use them in a closed room, say at night with the doors shut to kill all the *^%^#$ which got in during the day some people can get reactions to the poison used, I know somebody gets bad eye allergic reactions if this case.

Hi I find its best to use a plug in and also spray yourself with a repellent. The Boots own brand one worked fine for me. I've also tried the circular things which burn in a tin with varied results but they also smell quite a lot. But the best I've found so far is a combination of spray on repellent, a plug in and also a table fan, which you can hire locally...the mozzies hate the moving air and the coolness will help your baby sleep. Hope this helps.
