Hi all. Last year I asked about a suitable North London car park for taking the Tube into London and you were very helpful, so I have another one!
Tomorrow I'm driving from Manchester for the Camden Rocks Christmas Bash at Proud Camden on Chalk Farm Road (NW1) - asking for advice on where to park the car and take a (hopefully) direct Tube.
Although I'll be travelling down via the M6 I have to detour up to Northampton on the way back, so a car park closer to the M1 is fine.
Many thanks in advance.
A possible alternative (with 450 spaces) would be Stanmore. Jubilee Line (9 stops) to West Hampstead, then London Overground (4 or 5 stops) to either Kentish Town West or Camden Road.
SatNav for Mill Hill East: NW7 1BS
SatNav for Stanmore: HA7 4PD
You may be right Chris, but my experience has always been that if an area is big enough to have one car park there are generally others not too far away.
It is this sort of brilliant logical reasoning that has made me look stupid on many occasions and I'm not about to change my spots now ;)
If you can't park at Mill Hill East, continue driving to Finchley Central station (which is the nearest alternative car park, with 269 spaces), which is just one stop further along the Northern Line. (SatNav: N3 2RY)
note that if you do change at West Hampstead, the maps can be misleading: you actually have to leave the station and walk up/down the road to another station.
