I decided as I had too much to do I'd make my New Year Trifle with ready made custard.

NEVER AGAIN!

It's too runny and my whipped cream has sank - well cheesed off.

Chop it all up in the bowl and serve it up. Rename it as Queenie's Mess as opposed to Eton Mess.

It'll still be tasty though ....
I wish all I had to worry about was runny custard.
Lol Jackdaw.:))
You're fired!
I much prefer runny custard and slightly runny jelly to very set trifle, sounds good to me.

Sure it will be hereIam.

I know campbellking - I'm just fussy I like all my cooking and things I make to be perfect. I do prefer homemade. I'm just a creature of home comforts. Mum would tell me it would be ok but I have this feeling she would be slightly disappointed.

Not to worry though :)

Arky...I'm in fired then everyone goes hungry.

Never thought of that Tilly! Good idea
I bet she wouldn't have been disappointed x
Question Author
I hope not but under the circumstances I think she'd understand ans let me off this once x
No one id going to be disappointed with your trifle, Quennie. It will be delicious.

I'm going to make one tomorrow, now. I haven't made one for years. (Note to self, .......make your own custard, Tilly) :-)
Excuse those typos ^^^, I'm typing in the dark!
Why?
The best thing to do with culinary mishaps is to laugh them off, as long as things still taste good it's fine.

Spoon into tall glasses, decorate and call it 'Zuppa Inglese' as the French call it.
Why what, Jo?
French? Do you not mean Italian?
Why are you in the dark, Tilly?
I'm sure it will be fine as it is. As long as it tastes good, that's the main thing.

If you want to try thickening, bearing mind there is cream already it in, do any of these options help? Maybe cornflour if you have any.
