Yes - Greece was one of 12 countries to adopt the Euro as of 1 January 2002: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain. If you remember the drachma, 1 euro = 340.75 drachmas!
