I have checked in many time 24 hours before and it is no problem. You can pick and change your seat, check in all luggage and give them vital info regarding passport & phone numbers. Remember to print your boarding card!!
I don't think you can still pick and change your seat any more, in the 24 hour checkin, without paying.
At least I don't seem to be able to.
You take the seat they allocate or pay for choice.
I don't mind paying to choose my seat, Jenny. I just need to know how to do that now, rather than 24 hours before I fly when all the best seats have been chosen.
I'll do that, Rocky. I have tried to sort it out again this morning, to no avail. The website is not user friendly. :-( (Unless it's me being dense, which is a possibility.)
Checking in isn't quite the same as seat selection though is it? When I've booked with BA I've paid for seat selection and made my choice sometimes months before I flew via the manage my booking.
Thanks, Prudie. I was actually talking about seat selection rather than booking in. I used the wrong terminology. Can you do the seat selection online, do you know?
Yes Tilly you can choose your seat before the 24 hr checkin by going to manage my booking and scroll down and you should see something about picking your seat.
Depends on the seat you want, on our flights to Las Vegas last year we paid £20 for the seats we wanted on the first leg and £43 for the 2nd leg seats - bargain imo not to be sitting next to strangers.
A tip, when booking for two people select the aisle seat and the window seat leaving the middle one free you can guarantee no one will be allocated that seat.
