On A Recent Flight

we embarked in Manchester 2 weeks ago heading for Barcelona, kit was Jet2, the flight took off I was at the Port window seat, after a while I was looking out of the window and noticed a small area the size about an Inch on the top of the engine cowling, we had the same plane on our return & was seated in the same paid seats, I emailed Jet2 with my observation & did not make a big issue of it as there was numerous other Rivets all around the Cowling but thought I would mention this, 2 emails later no response, I until now thought Jet2 was a very good airline but after this issue I wonder.

When you look at the Planes engine there is a Stainless Steel Cowling that surrounds the front of the Engine as you look at it from the front, the tear was at the very top and was visible from my seat.

ahhh..you didn't say a tear.... would expect routine maintenance to catch that..but at least you should have been acknowledged

What was the outcome you were expecting from your email and did you ask for a response?

31 Euro to go into the Cathedral Murray, If it was a Tenner I would have paid, I thought it was a bit steep other than that the trip was good.

it's a sad sign that one has to pay to enter a House of God ! ..nice place Barcelona, not been for years though...

The police presence was a lot Murray but expected.

indeed.. armed police even in Edinburgh Airport ! ..best to scarper from the vicinity as soon as poss ! did you have good weather ?

The weather was not the best, 2 really good days, but we were not bothered, everything else was good.xx

Jet2 do have a reputation for having ageing and not very reliable aeroplanes.

I suspect they are unwilling to put anything in print about their maintenance for fear it will end up being reproduced in the papers or social media.

I have vivid memories from about 40 years ago of sitting at Heathrow on the BA flight to Gib and a man was on the wing hammering something, I had to stop OH getting off!
