Help im going to Egypt!

Can anyone give me advice please?... I am going to Egypt next year, this will be my first time out of the UK. I dont know what money to take. Is Cash, Travellers cheques or the new Travellers cheque card best? I dont have a clue how to use Travellers cheques, and i know this sounds silly but how do you know how much you are being charged if you dont understand the language?!
