Stayed many times in Travelodges, they phoned me 3 days before asking about my stay, apparently someone with same surname has booked same hotel, so what? Booked in today and I queired the phone call, they said normal practice....it is not "normal practice" i've stayed in Travelodges for years and never had a phone call, anyone on AB work for Travelodge or had same expreience?

Maybe they wanted to check you had not made a double booking by mistake.

Very good of them I think to maybe help you out as you may have had to pay twice for just one room.
seems okay to me too, especially if one or both rooms hadn't been paid for yet. I assume they checked with the other mr djtdjt too. They wouldn't want a clerical error to result in having an unfilled room they couldn't charge for
You would be furious if they cancelled you, thinking it was a double booking. Full marks to Travelodge.
Oh the humanity! Will it never END? A phone call!!
In other news, maybe you've never had a call because there was no-one of the same name in the hotel at the same time.
