Munich to Mayrhofen
I would like to do this by train in mid December, I was wondering if anybody could advise the best place to find times and prices so I can book this trip.
I think I would have to change at Jenbach.

Are you flying into Munich? If so you first need a S-Bahn Gesamtnetz ticket which covers all zones for the day and will get you from the airport to Hauptbahnhof which is the main station (not to be confused with Ostbahnhof). Price is 9 per ticket. If more than one person is travelling then you can have a 'Partner Gesamtnetz' which is 16 and is valid for up to 5 people.
You can then get a ticket either from a machine or from a DB counter. The counter may charge you 5, I'm not sure, but you can also book online anyway.
Depending on departure time will determine how many changes you have to make. There are some with only one change in Jenbach, but other trains with two changes which are Jenbach and Rosenheim. Prices are between 56 - 59.60 return per person. If you are travelling at the weekend there are cheaper options available but let me know if you will be travelling midweek or the weekend (Bayern ticket available for up to 5 people for 24 for anywhere in Bavaria and then just get a local train to Mayrhofen - might be cheaper).
You don't necessarily need to book in advance. Hauptbahnhof station is huge so there's plenty of people to help you there.
I live in Munich so if you need anymore info then just let me know.
