It's really only good for single words translations or very simple sentences. If you're looking to translate something more complex, I would advise you to ask a "real" translator. Or be prepared to end up with funny results ! Good luck.
I agree with maximo - it's easily the best one available, but it's not perfect by any means. My Mum's forever receiving strange emails at work that have clearly been "babelled".
I'm not meaning to sound cynical, but if you were planning on using it for translation to do with studying a foreign language (e.g., school/college homework) - it will be really obvious what you've done and you probably won't get away with it.
If that's not your purpose then please accept my apologies - I didn't mean to cause any offence.
Babelfish does not always give a correct translation. another site to try is
http://www.freetranslation.com
but again its not always accurate. I always use the one to check the other now.
