Compensation For Delayed Train Journey
I was travelling from Chesterfield to London in late July by East Midland Trains. I had picked the hottest day ever recorded and because of a fire further down the line the train stopped at Leicester. There was no information available from any staff at the station so I took a taxi to the bus station and booked a National Express coach to Victoria. The next two coaches were already full probably because other abandoned passengers had done the same thing. I landed in London at 10 o'clock at night - 7 hours later than originally expected. I claimed compensation but have only received the cost of my rail ticket and National Express coach ticket. The whole ticket price is returned for a delay of 2 hours or more. Am I unreasonable in expecting more than the cost of the ticket for such a delay? I can't find any information on the website. I would be interested in what other people think.
