My Missing Passport Is 49 Years Old. Do I Mention That When I Turn In My Passport Paper

Do I need to say that my passport is missing and do I need to fill out a new application. Passport is 49 years old.

Have I understood you that your missing passport expired 49 years ago? In that case, if you are a citizen of the UK, you will need to apply as though you have never had a UK passport and you may be called for an interview. I know this is correct because mine expired 27 years ago although it isn't lost. I recently looked into getting a new passport and this is what the website tells you when you try to apply.

it is a bind but I recollect my parents run around 1958 when they were going abroad - lots of bitter comments like - when we turned up to fight for King George you didnt worry about passports!

its a blooming nuisance PP. I was born in the Uk and have lived here all my life. My nearest interview office is more than an hour's drive away but they cheerfully tell you there is NO nearby parking which means that for me its bus ar taxi, train, taxi and then the same in reverse to get home, turning a "brief" interview into a day out. Additionally there is no choice over date and time of interview. Friends of mine in the same circs as me decided to apply for passports recently, again Uk born and resident, she didn't get called in but he did!

just been through this. my passport was out of date. holding out for brexit one! suddenly needed a passport for travelling to ireland.

if you don't, fill in form state you have lost passport. where did you lose it? state you don't know.

obvously if its . urgent you have to apply on line then attend in person.. you can hang round your passport office for four hours . or pay five pounds extra to have it sent within seven days. i got mine two days later. you need to book an appointment with passport office. don't know why but have been refunded the five pounds hope s he
