Travelling On Trains

I know we are not allowed to travel at the moment but hopefully in the summer we can so I was wondering how social distancing is managed if passengers get on at different stops along the line

probably the hope is that social distancing won't be necessary - how are people coping now on (say) the London underground?

they are coping with social distancing on the underground, some seats are marked off, though that was last year when i travelled on one.

social distancing is managed on long-distance services by requiring all passengers to have mandatory seat reservations.

I think social distancing will be around for a while. I am hoping to travel to Dorset in August
Train leaves from London and I get on halfway. Its always been a busy line whatever time of day I have travelled.

Son went up to Newcastle on the train (main east coast line London-Edinburgh) a couple of days ago. Booked in advance tickets only and seats taped off, everyone was wearing masks and it was very well organised apparently.

I can't see that working on busy commuter routes when people start going back to their workplaces in greater numbers.

unlikely. they will be with us for the forseeable, probably at least the next few years.
