Changing Planes
Hi, im going on holiday tomorrow and changing planes at edinburgh. To my horror, i have just realised there is only 40 minutes between landing and taking off. I have never not had a direct flight before - do they deal with luggage or do you have to queue up, get it then check in again (domestic flights)

If you are not travelling by wheelchair assist and there are any empty seats that you can see on your inbound aircraft it would be worth having a word with the crew to see if you can be moved nearer to the disembarking door before landing so that you can get off the aircraft quickly which would give you a better chance of making your next flight. Good luck.
Here is information on minimum flight connecting times – 273SJ is talking nonsense.

I’ve done too many connecting flights to count.
Incl some where the changeover is short like yours.
Never missed a connecting flight (yet) and only once had my luggage delayed.
It turned up the following day tho.
What I always do is take a change of clothes in my hand luggage - just in case.
Have a fab trip - where are you off to?

Oops, I was going to suggest to let your airline and crew know that you are on a 'thin' transfer time.....however, I see you have been stuffed by the weather. Hopefully you are comfortable in Weegie Alba land, and there are some nice hotels in the City like the Hotel du Vin...my guess is that you are probably out at the airport though.
