Celebrity Cruise Onboard Spend

We have a $300 onboard spend with our trip. Haven’t set foot on ship yet, but had an email today to say they we now have $229.98! How could we spend anything when we haven’t even started cruising? Haven’t paid for anything in advance like booking restaurants or excursions. Can’t get through on phone and they don’t answer emails. Wouldn’t recommend Celebrity to anyone.

My thoughts is that Celebrity have bought P&O cruises and have overstretched their financial capacity.
Just my opinion, but you might enjoy your cruise immensely,but I fel that my first answer may be the root cause of your question.

long time since I cruised anywhere, but we always used to book through people like cruise.co.uk (I think we also used a couple of others but can't remember their names). They have wide choices and a lot of special offers so there's a good chance of getting a trip for less than the company would charge direct. Plus, it gives you somebody to ask questions like this one.

I think onboard spending on Celebrity is in $$, so it should still be $300, but yes, it might be a $/£ conversion thing.

I would think they have taken the compulsory gratuities from your on board expenses deal. It happens!!

We've never bothered with the inclusive deals because we spend very little on board and I don't drink!
