A bloody good jacket and boots if you are going to be outside, layers inside as the heating is usually abundant - in Reykjavik, they have a thermal hot water system using 'geyser power'. Think 4C to -2 with it possibly going down to - 5. Can be quite wet/snow - and also dark what with 4-5 hours of daylight only.
I pass on a useful tip whether you are going to Iceland or not; Mrs K. bought me a black V-neck pullover, it is thin, light, feels luxuriously soft and is incredibly warm, I couldn't understand why this was, so looked at the label to find it's made from '100% pure Geelong' looked that up on the internet to find it is wool from a special Australian sheep which comes from that region - though the pullover was made in Scotland by a firm called barrie (sic).
If I was going to Iceland it would be my first thing to pack :0)
