why is everyone on this site so obsessed withhow many UK visitors visit certain places? Is there some reason they need to know this or is it just interest?

It's possibly just mischief-making. So far as I know, there's nothing to step someone registering wifh a different name every time he/she posts a question - so there might not be as many individuals "interested" in these stats as appears to be the case.

I ask them everty time they post and have heard back from one or two - most don't bother replying, sadly - who need the info for coursework. I don't know whether it's forschool or college but I do ask regularly that they tell the course tutor not to just send people here (it can involve considerable time researching the answers!). Cupra did a brilliant job finding some sites with tourist data so we can all direct the questions to: question 18096

I have a feeling that people searching for these things are directed here through a search engine such as google because there are already similar existing questions, then they post a new one so it becomes like a self fulfilling prophecy (I think.. or maybe a chain reaction!)
