Best places to stay in Newquay.

Me and some mates are planning a shortish stay in Newquay sometime during the summer. Probably just a long weekend Thursday to Monday. As there seem to be quite a few of these 18-30 type places, can anyone recomend a decent one. Also if anyone knows of any events that are taking place in Newquay this summer please let me know as if its our sort of thing we may plan our stay around it. Thanks,
