summer holiday?!

Where is the nicest place to go around Aug/Sept in the far away countries - like Brazil, Cuba, Jamaica, Barbados etc.

Me and my boyfriend want to go away around this time but are bored with the usual Spain, Greece, Cyprus etc.

Any ideas where might be a more exciting place to visit?

Cuba can be quite basic, though you can't spoil the Caribbean, but if you do go it needs to be 4star, their 3 star is poor, avoid the Cayos, varadero is better. If you want great night life and the Caribbean, can't beat Cancun. Jamaica I have been thinking about but it isn't a good idea if you want to travel about rather than stay on the complex. I am looking at Antigua, very low crime rate and great looking beaches.

Just bear in mind that this is the hurricane season in the Caribbean so you may geta good deal but not perfect weather.Humidity can be very high. We have friends who went to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico in October...(may be a little late for you) but they loved it. I go regularly to Jamaica but the latest month in the summer I went was July and the weather was getting a little stormy.Contrary to popular belief, Jamaica,where I go,on the South West coast...Treasure Beach is totally safe and has NO all inclusive complexes...just beautiful villas and cottages.We travel all over the island and have never had one single problem.
