I have a friend who is living in Finland and am invited to stay, but need to find the cheapest way of getting there. Flights seem expensive, but ferries are difficult to come by. Would taking a detour through a neighbouring country make things easier? Help!

Have you checked Ryanair? They fly to Tampere.

the cost will depend how soon and what days you wish to travel on.

Arty774 has had the same idea as me. There might, however, be other possibilities but it would help to know which part of the UK you're in and whereabouts in Finland you're trying to get to. (It might, for example, be possible to travel to Talinn and take the ferry from there - but we really need more information to find the best route for you).

that sounds ideal - I discussed the possibility of staying in a timeshare I have access to, about 10km from Tampere. Sounds like a perfect option, cheers guys!
Might I ask if you enjoy your self in Finland please don't tell anyone as we like to keep the secret to ourselves
thanks in anticipation
