We off on the Thomson Spirit doing the Red Sea cruise in a couple of weeks. Although we're seasoned cruisers we've never been on the Spirit and wondered if anyone's cruised on it and could tell us anything useful or of interest? Also anyone done the same cruise? Thanks!

We did this cruise last November. We felt it was good value for money and a great itinerary. The ship is fine, clean, but not luxurious. The cabin walls are very thin, I thought my husband was snoring, but it was the chap next door!! The major criticism we had was shortage of sunbeds and people getting up at ridiculous times to put towels on them etc, that really needs addressing. The ports of call are very interesting. We did a tour to Petra, stunning, but very hot and tiring. Trip to the Pyramids was something like a 10 hour round trip, but worth it. Chickened out of the even longer day (15 hours) to see the Valley of the Kings, but in some ways we regret missing it. Food was good and plentiful. Vast majority of crew and staff friendly and efficient. In all, an enjoyable holiday, you get what you pay for, liked the completely different ports to say, Caribbean, or the Med. Sure you will enjoy.
