What to wear in Egypt

My wife and I are due to go on a Nile cruise and my wife being a typical woman has to have the right clothes. What is the best thing for women to wear when going out on the excursions, I'm happy with shorts t-shirt and trainers

I have been to Egypt twice and I think women should dress "modestly" there to avoid stares etc. Baggy cotton trousers and baggy long sleeved T-shirts or similar. Sorry! There is a catalogue called "travelling light" which sells lightweight clothes for people going to cold climates when it's freezing here (I am in England).

Being a woman, I have to say that even in Egypt I was happy with jeans/shorts and T-Shirts.

You're welcome. I would reiterate that the subject of clothes on a Nile cruise is dependent very much on the star rating of the boat and of course if you are adding on a hotel stay you can be guided by the hotel rating. I would tend to agree with Hgrove about dressing modestly - I think T shirts are OK but definitely not skimpy tops and I tend to wear cropped trousers which I think are a happy medium. I'm sure you will both have a wonderful holiday - it's quite unique.
