I understand that under new laws, if you get 6 points within 2 years of passing your licence then you lose the licence and have to start again. My situation is that I have held a car licence for 16 years and a motorbike licence for 18 months. I'm about to go from 3 points to 6 points on the motorbike (speed camera again). WIll I lose my entitlement to ride bikes?

Don't think so slim - I think it depends on how long you have held a full license, not what the category is.
I think you can still keep your licence with 6, I think it might just be if you go over that (like my whopping 11 points... whoops)
Sorry slimjim, I was wrong - if you go over 6 points on your license then you lose your bike entitlement and have to go through the whole process again. It does not effect your car entitlement, which won't be affected until you reach 12! I know this 'cos I've just done it the other way around, just passed my car test having been on a bike for 15 years and I asked the examiner.
