Short City Break - any suggestions welcome
I am in need of a break!! am looking to take a short city break somewhere for 3 nights in June with a couple of others. So far have looked at Amsterdam, Brussels, Vienna, Madrid, Prague, Dublin and Endinburgh - so quite a wide range!!
I am really not sure what to go for, I like the look of Brussels or Madrid (big difference I know) but not sure that there is much to in Brussels?
Don't really want to go to Barcelona as I went there last year!!
Let me know your thoughts all you travelling experts!!

(Especially the baths/spas which are sooo cheap!) Not sure where you live, but Easyjet have some very cheap flights there. Likewise, Prague is great - but it is turning into stag-party-central.
I like Brussels, but I prefer Bruge in Belgium, as its particularly picturesque. Madrid, I have never visited, but it does look like a great destination!! Cheers, Dani
Brugge is a wonderful place and a great base. There are frequent trains to the coast (Oostende, Blankenberge and Knocke are all just a few minutes along the line). Going in the other direction, there are frequent trains into Brussels so you'll still get to see the capital city.
Copenhagen is also a great base. Depending upon where you're flying from there are cheap flights into either Copenhagen airport or Malmo (which is just across the Oresund bridge, in Sweden). There are loads of great beaches around there (both in Denmark & Sweden) plus plenty of cultural activities, tours, etc.

My top three favourite European cities are:
1. Tallinn, Estonia (with a day trip to Helsinki in Finland)
2. Copenhagen, Denmark (with a day trip to Malmo, Sweden)
3. Seville, Spain
Yes, I have to second the Tallinn recommendation. Was there last year and had the time of my life. Plus it is exceptionally cheap...even if you include a trip across to Helsinki, which is also very impressive.
Copenhagen is also another god suggestion - with the trip to Malmo, but it can work out expensive.
Thank you for all your answers so far, although Bruges is probably nicer than Brussels I went there a couple of years ago so will prob not go back yet.
I would absolutely love to go to Rome however I have looked at the short breaks there through a few online agents and it seems allot more expensive than the others. I will prob go there when I have more money to spend and more time to take off!
Still not decided where to go though!! all the places seem lovely and have so much to offer. I think I would prefer somewhere that will be warm for a couple of days though :)
