Are there only 10 year british passports available or can you still get a year one?

The one year passport was abolished in 1995:

Passports are now standardised throughout the EU and only 10 year versions are available.

Just goes to show how long I''ve been out of the country! I can't get over how expensive passports are, i'm grateful for my 'free' identity card!
