Hi, Mr Zom and I have been discussing relocating to Canada (from UK) and I was just wondering if anyone has done a similar move and what were your experiences?

Is it nerve-wracking, freeing, satisfying, what you expected or all of the above?

Cheers in advance!

Have you checked you can actually move from UK to Canada?

Most countries do restrict who can go and live there, you cannot just turn up at an airport.

(It only seems to be the UK that will allow anyone who turns up on the doorstep to live here)

yes, we still have your queen on our money, and half our country is named after some dead guy or place from over there, besides i think they would rather you spent your pension here rather than at home. i'm sure there are some details, medical, etc. my father lived here 40 years never even bothered to become a citizen although i'm sure that has changed. much easier than moving to the u.s. i'm sure.
My daughter and her husband are desperate to re-locate to Canada. They are a hard-working couple who would be an asset to any country, but have not got enough 'points' to be allowed into Canada. Points are awarded for having a degree, job skills etc. It seems Canada is very choosy about who they let in. Possibly having lots of money or sponsors in Canada would work.
