My husband has to go on a training course in Northampton. He doesn't know the area at all. How easy is it to get from the Rail station to his hotel, The Lakes, Bedford Road. He will not be arriving untill 10pm.

Thanks in advance for any info.

It's shown on this map - buried under a couple of other "flags" Select it from the left hand listings. (Multimap suggests that it's about 2.1 miles from the nearest railway station. At that time of night it might have to be a taxi.

Thanks Machecoul. I've been going round in circles all morning. Could only find the X2 bus that went that way and it didn't run so late at night. It was also a 11 min walk from the station to the bus stop.

Certainly looks like a taxi job.

I live just outside N'pton and agree at that time of night, a taxi is the best bet.It will only be about a 5 minute journey in a taxi, but to go by bus I think you would have to go via the bus station and change (but I haven't used a bus in N'pton for over 20 years, so who knows!!). I take it he is staying at the Marriott Courtyard. Anything else you need to know, leave a post here.

Thank you sddsddean for your input. A taxi will problay be his best bet as he doesn't know the town at all. He understands that the hotel is "The Lakes". I've found a Premier Travel Inn by that name so presume it is that.

Their "How to get here" instructions presume everyone will be arriving by car. Not very helpful.

Thanks again.

Yep, there is a Travel Inn down there as well attached to a pub. I just thought a course would more likely be held at the Marriott.
