I stayed there. Gumbet is great can you can go over to Bodrum via the dolmus bus (bout 50 p to anywhere) Gumbet can be loud and pubby , but Bodrum is very cosmopolitian. Its so nice. Try some of the cheap boat trips out for the day ( dont book with your hotel rep) you,ll pay through the nose. Also try a turkish bath ( but get it early on in your holiday. It prepares your skin for the bets tan you,ll ever have. I,m so jealous. My best holiday ever was Bodrum/ Gumbet. Its a holiday of real variation.

Have a fab time

Gumbet is really really nice, there are loads of shops and don't be afraid to barter cos the prices do drop so much. Your kids will get a whole wardrobe for 100 each. I second ronnie's turkish bath reccommendation - they are amazing. Apart from that i didn't actually do anything else cos its so nice just to lay about! Definitely go over to Bodrum for some different shops and restaurants, taxi's are also dirt cheap you just flag them down like england. The main strip in Gumbet becomes very raucaus at night with drunk young people (like myself I'm afraid!) but if you go early evening you will have a nice meal out. We just walked along the strip and there are waiters outside offering you menu;s. They will offer you freebies like wine to tempt you into their restaurant so make the most of it! When you like the look of a place say you'll only go in if they give you TWO jugs of wine, or free icecream for the kids or something cos they will give it to you. I'm afraid I can't specifically remember any of the restaurants but we ate in a few different places and every one was lovely . Have fun I'm very jealous!!
