Isla Canela - a building site! Loads of new apartments, but they seem to have forgotten to put in restaurants when I was there. 3 rather classy hotels - we stayed at the Iberostar - http://www.holidayhotels.com/hotel.php?HID=200 21002142753187763 great pool and surprisingly good food in the hotel restaurant!
I live on the Costa de la Luz and the area you are talking about is beautiful but there is a lot of building work going on there at the moment. I don't know when you are planning to come but July and August are very busy here too. Close proximity to Portugal and Sevilla/Jerez and Huelva all worth a visit.
Can't understand Auntie Bertie. At the Marina end of Isla Canela there are six restaurants and several bars. A short walk across the causeway to the little fishing village of Punta del Moral there are another five or six restaurants and bars. And at the other end of the island there are at least a dozen bars and restaurants. As well as this there are the many beach bars (chiringuitos) along the beach. You must have stayed in your room to not notice all these!
