Depends where you are going from. London you have to go via either lisbon, amsterdam or perhaps even madrid. But they were planning some direct from other airports (think manchester) I had considered purchasing there earlier (went to a few seminars) but decided against - may be a real success and looks beautiful. But I had a lot of issues - some practical (travel, infrastructure, resources, earthquake zone, drought, etc) - some more moral/ethical (but that's my hang up). These may help - I found there was a lot of info on line. (Oh and hopefully it has changed but apparently the process of going through 'immegration' is rather lengthy to say the least. )
Currency is CV escudo but it's linked to euro

I decided on italy in the end. I wanted somewhere I loved and where was fairly accessible. Danger with cape verde is that it might (worst case scenario) become like the canaries (only meant in the loss of real identityin the places where people holiday) But some of the islands look beautiful (Sao Vincence was the one that appealed to me)
Good luck!
