We have been to Edinburgh by train from York and as you go up the East coast there is a small village on the shore above newcastle. Does anyone know where this is or do you know of a good rail map that I would find it on. It is the first place you see on the coast.

Probably Alnmouth
maybe berwick on tweed?
I can't see Berwick being described as "a small village"! I've not been that way by train, but the first place I'd think of "above" (ie north of) Newcastle is Whitley Bay - again, hardly a "small village". How about Seaton Sluice, or possibly Blyth or Newbiggin?
Those places are nowhere near the main railway line, narolines.

I am not sure if that is it vehelpfulguy, I think that place looks a bit big. I am sure it was just a small village but thanks for trying. By the way wher was that photo?
Question Author
It looked to be on a slope as well . That photo looked as if that place was on the flat.
To get that picture I just put Alnmouth in google and searched, then chose the images option at the top.

This shows all the images for that search and that train was one of them.
