Please excuse my ignorance....BUT...my mother who will be 90years old soon has always wanted to visit Aberfan as I have the chance to take her to Llandudno? can you tell me if they are closely linked for travel
Aberfan - if it's the same one that had the slag heap disaster in the 60s - is in South Wales. Llandudno is on the North Wales coast. A 5 or 6 hour journey by train.
Oh! thanks a lot a bit of a journey then. I must try though since we will be in wales it would be a shame not to take mum there when she has always wanted to pay her respects however late .. .again thanks
you don't say if you will have access to a car.If so it's quite a nice drive through the Welsh countryside and coast to the south wales valleys It could make a nice day out but rather a long one
Thanks to all of you... We will be visiting as part of a coach party so don't know how it will work out. Maybe while others are out on excursion we could manage to visit ....
I would expect it to be a moving experience but my Mum always said " before I go of the face of this earth, I want to visit where all those poor wee infants perished" so what can I do
