Please excuse my ignorance....BUT...my mother who will be 90years old soon has always wanted to visit Aberfan as I have the chance to take her to Llandudno? can you tell me if they are closely linked for travel

Aberfan - if it's the same one that had the slag heap disaster in the 60s - is in South Wales. Llandudno is on the North Wales coast. A 5 or 6 hour journey by train.

Oh! thanks a lot a bit of a journey then. I must try though since we will be in wales it would be a shame not to take mum there when she has always wanted to pay her respects however late .. .again thanks
Not much of Aberfan from the 1960s exists anymore.
you don't say if you will have access to a car.If so it's quite a nice drive through the Welsh countryside and coast to the south wales valleys It could make a nice day out but rather a long one

Thanks to all of you... We will be visiting as part of a coach party so don't know how it will work out. Maybe while others are out on excursion we could manage to visit ....
I would expect it to be a moving experience but my Mum always said " before I go of the face of this earth, I want to visit where all those poor wee infants perished" so what can I do
