off for the first time to sardinia next week alghero seeing as you know it so well any tips would be appreciated
p[ut it this way, Jeremey Clarkson has been to every place under the sun and he said that Barbados is beautiful, but nothing compares to Sardinia.

Alghero is the exact same place we stay! ok!

1) be sure to visit THE JAMACIA INN it is one of the many fine restaurants that can be found in Alghero, it serves my favourite dishes i.e Horse Meat in sauce, dont be afraid to try new food, also sea food is a must, i dont reccomend oysters, theyre not very nice, but Squid, Octopus and other such things are very delicious.
2) never ever try to cross a roan unless youre absolutely sure that there is no chance of someone coming and knocking you down, because everyones crazy!
3) if you or someone you know can speak Sardinian, then that would be very handy, and yes Sardinian is another language, different from Italian, it's part Arabic, many of the words are the same in Arabia. But never the less, Italian may still be helpfull
4) theres one thing that u have to know, if taking the bus, you have to buy the ticket in the nearest tobcaaonict, which will be labeled Tabacci.
5) if you are unsure of what a word is in Italian, like for example "Airport" try adding an -o and it becomes Aeroporto. and it will be handy to buy a phrase book. some basic words are:
Scusa - Excuse me
La Prenotazione - Reservation
Svegilare - wake
Verrei - i would like

well i did write lots more, but then it wudnt let me send it 2000 characters max!
well be sure to keep a look out for the sunset, night time is very cold so bring a jacket, dont go for dinner until about 8 or 9 at nignt, dont go out between 12 and 3, dont be alarmed to see octopus, and very big fish in a convienent store
thanks kitty girl very helpfull i speak moderate italian and have travelled italy top to toe but sardinia is my last discovered place in italy once again many thanks
