I saw a car in Bristol recently and want to identify it. It was an old 'K' reg (looks 1950's or 60's) and I think it was a SEAT. On the front it had a badge saying 'Moraira'. It was two door, had round headlights, chrome bumpers and mirrors etc. It was a left hand drive so i'm guessing it ws imported. Unfortunately nothing comes up when i search for 'SEAT Moraira' on the net. Can anyone help ???
Firstly, are sure it was K reg? K plates ran from 1971 to 1972. Secondly, although SEAT has been making cars since the 50's they were always named by number, i.e. the 800, 124, 127 and it was only in 1984 they started using proper names - the Ibiza, Malaga etc. Saying that, Moraira is a small town in Spain (and I mean small) just up the coast from Benidorm so it's possible it could have a been a limited edition e.g., the 800 Moraira but if it's really bugging you why not email Seat?
I'm pretty sure it wasn't a mirafiori, but it could be a 1970's model rather than a 50's. I got a photo of it but don't know how to post it here. I'll try setting it up on a web photoalbum and posting the link here....
It's a1970s Fiat 850 saloon see www.motorbase.com. Go to pictures on the menu down the side of the page and enter Fiat into the search and the car you want is on the second page.
