helloo, what would be the easiest, fastest and preferably cheapest way to get to gatwick from the stockwell tube station sort of area. we'll have quite big bags and dont know the area at all so any help would be very appreciated so we dont end up lost somewhere dragging our bags around and missing our flight. thanks
I'm not sure where Stockwell is, but I would suggest that you find your way to Clapham Junction and then join a train to Gatwick (possible without any changes). That is probably the cheapest option.
The National Express coach from Victoria to Gatwick stops in Stockwell - it will be the easiest and cheapest route for you. Takes just over an hour - probably not much more than any more expensive indirect route you may choose.
Can't tell you where it stops - the timetable just says Stockwell.
fastest route is victoria line to victoria, then "southern" train to the airport, journey approx 50mn. I wouldn't disagree with the coach for you though, especially if you've huge bags.
Mushroom25 is basically correct about the fastest route being via Victoria except that the train operator should be Gatwick Express. It might be cheaper, though, to take the Northern Line to London Bridge and then take a First Capital Connect train from there.
Dzug's suggestion is probably best though. The National Express stop is on South Lambeth Road, roughly midway between Lansdowne Way and Stockwell Terrace. Departures are hourly (at 10 minutes past each hour),with a one hour journey time.
fastest and simplest would be the Gatwick Express from Victoria, every quarter-hour during the day, taking 45 minutes; fastest is seldom cheapest, of course, so you'll pay less on a stopping train. Trains stop right under Gatwick airport terminal, so minimal hassle at that end.
