Has anyone been on holiday here? (A package holiday from a travel agent rather than backpacking)
Is it ok to wear bikini/shorts etc around the hotel complex, but cover up when you go out & about?

yes, skimpy clothing is okay by the pool (I've even seen topless, but don't know if the authorities have got stricter since then) and generally on beaches, but if you wear shorts or singlets around the bazaars etc you'll be leered at a lot, so better cover up.
I went on holiday there 2 years ago and if you have blond hair you will get more attention. By the hotel pool it is fine to wear bikinis the hotel gardeners might stare abit but are understrict hotel rules. If you go out and about into towns I would advise to cover up abit shorts etc and it is very hard to sunbathe on beaches in a bikini unless you have a designated hotel area. I did sunbathe and ended up with an audience of Moroccan men around me. If you go shopping in the souks, cover up and you will get a lot of hassle people will grab you but if you just say no and walk on they are fine. I had a brilliant holiday even though there are restrictions
